We start soon

First post! This is my new blog which aims to annotate my journey in 2008 to read a book a week. Perhaps not strictly one book per week, but the general idea is to have read 52 books by the end of 2008. I had half-baked plans to do this last year, but lost motivation about mid-January. Finishing my undergraduate degree and too much blog-reading left with me with little energy to gorge on more printed word.

So. This is the beginning. The basic plan is to cherry pick titles from my reading list that I keep on tadalist.com. As a general rule, you'll be able to see what I'll be reading next by looking at that. I also plan to mix other reading lists into this from Harold Bloom's Canon and other silly attempts to categorise good (non)fiction. I promise to blog my naive and relatively uninformed opinion on each work as I finish them. I would be overjoyed and immediately flattered if anyone followed along.

First cab off the rank is:

Against The Day - Thomas Pynchon

Bring. It.
